My New Greeting Card Shop, Can you make a living selling greeting cards, inspiring quote

1) My Greeting Card Shop on Etsy

I am so happy!!! I struck a huge item off my bucket list today… I set up a greeting card shop on Etsy:)

Strictly speaking, my Etsy shop was started many years ago, but I wasn’t really selling greeting cards, but my children’s book, prints from it, and a mishmash of trinkets..then kids came along and I had to stop.

I learned so many things while setting up my greeting card Shop on Etsy today… My 12 watercolor designs are a result of about 2 months of hard work. So I’m really happy and proud I fulfilled one of my childhood dreams to own a card & gift shop(nevermind it is just online!:D).

Back then, social media wasn’t such a huge thing.. So I’m kinda worried now as I’m not social media savvy (more known for my social media absence actually, haha..) I know how important it is to have online presence these days. So can forsee marketing may be a problem…

Anyway, enough of self-doubt! Here’s my little shop at it’s humble beginnings…

And a few designs from it:

Inspired by my recent discovery about these creatures!:)
My cards are customisable..
So that every recipient will feel special and cherished!

Please support and spread the word, if you like my designs. I welcome any suggestions for improvement! 🙂

2) Can you make a living selling greeting cards?

Kathy from Easy Sunday Club doesn’t mean to be a bearer of bad news but the short answer is usually, no.. It’s safer to find other avenues of income.. But that being said.. It is so comforting to hear her share her learning journey and encouragement:

“You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just have to take the next step.”

I’m quoting her as her advice on selling greeting cards has been a source of inspiration to me and played a big part in motivating me to set up my own shop. Hope it will inspire you too! 🙂
